ONE BASKET: A Thanksgiving Table Filled

One Basket, A Thanksgiving Table Filled, a post about the Blessing Baskets project.

Picture your Thanksgiving table. The turkey, the stuffing, the green beans somebody always forgets to put out until the last minute. The loud, happy chaos of everyone talking at once.

Now picture a table that’s quiet because there isn’t enough to put on it.

That’s real for a lot of families right here in our community this year. And it’s why my team does our Blessing Baskets project every November. We fill baskets with everything a family needs for a full Thanksgiving dinner, and our local schools hand them out to the families who need them most.

This year our goal is 15 baskets. I think we can get there, and I’d love your help.

Fill a basket. It’s easier than it sounds.

Grab a laundry basket (no bags, they’re sturdy and families can reuse them) and fill it with:

  • A $15 turkey gift card (Jewel, Target, Aldi, or Walmart)
  • Corn, green beans, and cranberries
  • Stuffing and mashed potatoes
  • Gravy and cream of mushroom soup
  • Muffin or biscuit mix
  • A non-perishable dessert. Your pick, so go with your favorite!

Feeling extra generous? Toss in dog food, socks, toys, toiletries, games, or laundry detergent. Those little extras go a long way.

Rather sponsor a basket? Just reach out to me and we’ll make it happen.

Let’s make it a party 🍕

Drop off your basket at our Happy Hour at Prontos Pizza on November 18th, 4:30 to 6:30 pm. Come hungry, bring a neighbor, and help us fill the room with baskets. Good pizza and good people, for a really good reason.

While you’re here

The holidays get busy fast. So we pulled together a local holiday guide, a digital flipbook full of ideas for celebrating close to home. Flip through it here and find something fun for your season.Thanksgiving is about sharing what we’re thankful for. I’m so grateful to live in a place where people show up for each other. Let’s fill some tables together.

Thinking about your next chapter?

Whether you’re buying, selling, or downsizing, or just wondering what your home is worth, I’d be glad to help. I love this community, and I love helping the people in it find a place that fits their lives. No pressure and no pushy sales pitch. Just a real conversation over coffee.
